AMI Paris sizing, cut by cut.
AMI Paris sizing depends on the cut. On classic-fit pieces, such as the Ami de Coeur T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and polo with a small embroidered heart, AMI's advice is to take your normal size. Boxy pieces are cut much roomier on purpose. AMI still suggests your normal size for those, or one size smaller for a closer fit.

Does AMI Paris run big or small?
It depends on the cut. AMI groups its T-shirts into fitted, classic and boxy cuts, and its sweatshirts and hoodies into classic, boxy and cosy fits. The same letter size can measure quite differently from one cut to another.
The Ami de Coeur heart appears on more than one cut, so the logo does not tell you the fit. For example, the small embroidered-heart T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and polo we checked on AMI's site are classic fit, and the current embossed-heart T-shirts and sweatshirts we checked are boxy. Check the fit note on each piece before choosing a size.

Classic and boxy T-shirts compared
AMI publishes flat measurements for every size: half chest, sleeve length and centre-back length. In size M, its classic Ami de Coeur T-shirt measures 53 cm across the chest, and a boxy embossed Ami de Coeur T-shirt measures 60 cm. The boxy XXS, at 54 cm, is close to the classic L at 55 cm.
These figures come from two current AMI styles, and AMI notes that measurements can vary slightly in production. Use them to understand the two cuts, then check the exact piece you want.

Hoodies, zip-up hoodies and sweatshirts
The hoodies, zip-up hoodies and crew-neck sweatshirts with a small embroidered heart that we checked on AMI's site are classic fit. AMI describes this fit as straight and easy to move in, for wearing under a jacket or on its own. Take your normal size.
Boxy sweatshirts have more room through the body and sleeves, and AMI's embossed-heart sweatshirt has raglan sleeves. AMI suggests one size smaller if you want a neater boxy shape. Our suggestion for layering over a shirt is to keep your normal size.
Unisex sizing and model sizes
Many Ami de Coeur pieces, including the polo, are unisex. AMI's advice is for men to take their normal size and for women to take one size down. On boxy unisex pieces, AMI suggests women go two sizes down for a closer fit.
On AMI's product pages, male models between 183 and 189 cm tall wear size M in both classic and boxy pieces. Female models between 175 and 179 cm wear XS.
How to choose between two sizes
Lay a T-shirt or sweatshirt you like flat, without stretching it. Measure the chest from edge to edge at its widest point, the sleeve from the shoulder seam to the cuff, and the length from the centre of the back neckline to the hem. This matches how AMI measures its garments.
If you are between two sizes, follow AMI's rule for the cut: the larger size for a fitted piece, the smaller size for a boxy or cosy piece.
