Essentials sizing, without the guesswork.
Choose an Essentials size by the exact style and collection, then compare its measurements with a garment you already like. A letter size alone is not a reliable comparison between an SS22 hoodie, an FW24 fleece hoodie and an SS25 T-shirt.

Does Essentials run oversized?
Several pieces in our selection have relaxed or boxy fit notes. That describes the intended silhouette; it does not mean every Essentials garment should be bought one size smaller. Start with the individual product details and the amount of room you want through the chest, sleeves or waist.
Fear of God introduced a refreshed Essentials sizing system for spring 2025. Keep the collection year in view when comparing an older piece with a newer release.
SS22, FW24 and SS25: what to compare
SS means spring/summer and FW means autumn/winter. The year identifies the collection, rather than a universal size chart. We do not publish a fixed size conversion between these releases because we do not have verified measurements for every garment.

Use a favourite garment as your reference
Lay a comparable piece flat without stretching it. Measure chest width from underarm to underarm, body length from the high shoulder to the hem, and sleeve length using the same starting point on both garments. For shorts, compare the relaxed waistband and inside leg.
Body measurements and flat garment measurements are different. A flat chest width is not a chest circumference. Ask us which measurement is being supplied before comparing two charts.
Between sizes? Start with the shape you want
If you want a closer fit, compare the smaller garment's length and sleeve measurements as well as its width. For layering, consider the room you need over a T-shirt. Contact customer care with the product link, the size you wear now and the measurements of a favourite piece before ordering.
