Light or Dark Oatmeal?
Choose Light Oatmeal for a pale, soft marl and Dark Oatmeal for a mid-grey that shows everyday marks less readily. Both are the same SS22 hoodie in different colours, so start with the same size in either. Check the style code and colour name before you order.

How the colours compare
Both oatmeal colours are marl fabrics with a visible fleck. In product photos, Light Oatmeal is a very pale grey with a faint warm tint, close to off-white. Dark Oatmeal is a mid-grey that looks almost neutral.
The Essentials logo is black on both, small on the chest and larger across the upper back, so it stands out more on Light Oatmeal. Stretch Limo is the black version of the same hoodie, with a tonal logo.

How they wear and pair
Our suggestion: choose Light Oatmeal for a soft, tonal look with other pale neutrals. As the paler colour, it will show marks sooner. Dark Oatmeal is the easier everyday choice and sits well with darker trousers. Stretch Limo is the simplest to wear with black.
Highsnobiety reported that the same 2022 collection introduced relaxed sweatpants in Stretch Limo and light and dark oatmeal shades. For a matching set, check that the colour name and season match on each piece. Wash the oatmeal and black pieces separately, as Which? recommends washing cotton with similar colours.
Does sizing differ between the colours?
We have found no sign that it does. The style codes differ only in their last digits, and Kith described the Light Oatmeal, Dark Oatmeal and Stretch Limo hoodies in the same terms, including 'designed for an oversized, relaxed fit', with the same XXS to 4XL range.

Style codes and release
The style code identifies the exact hoodie more precisely than the colour name. Highsnobiety reported that the 2022 Essentials Core Collection of branded hoodies, sweatshirts and T-shirts reached the brand's online store on 15 June 2022.
The Light Oatmeal name was also used on other Essentials hoodies, so check the code as well as the colour.

What to check in the photos
Compare the photos with these details before you order. If anything is unclear, contact customer care first.
- The colour name and style code in the product details.
- A small ESSENTIALS logo on the chest, with FEAR OF GOD beneath it. A '1977' graphic means a different hoodie.
- A larger ESSENTIALS logo across the upper back.
- A rubber Essentials label on the hood.
- Similar lighting. Screens and light change how marl fabric looks, so compare the two colours side by side where you can.
